My story
Kia ora, I'm Andrea Bentley, a Freelance Technical Fashion Designer, Garment Technician, and Surface Print Designer based in TaupÅ, New Zealand. After studying Fashion in Dunedin and designing my own label for five years, I spent the next sixteen years travelling the world and gaining invaluable experience working with international fashion brands including Speedo International, Marks and Spencer, Pineapple Dance Studio, Rusty Australia and Aritzia and working with garment factories in India, China and Europe.
My expertise
With 30 years experience in the Fashion Industry, my main area of expertise is creating factory ready Tech packs for clients and supporting them from design concept through to sampling and bulk production. A full Tech pack includes garment flat sketches, graded garment specs, construction information, and BOMs (Bill of Materials). I'm happy to work with individuals starting out in the industry or with established companies needing some extra help during busy periods.
More than just tech packs
I can also help you with your Apparel Branding requirements (swing tag design, back neck labels, care labelling, packaging) and also with Textile Design/Surface Pattern Design (all-over yardage prints for textiles/fabrics/accessories, or placement print graphics for apparel).
